Up The Hill

There was a new war memorial in the grounds of the Leece Street Church, itself a memorial to the blitz of 1941.  In the background, on Renshaw Street, is a building echoed by the new LIPA Primary School on Cathedral Gate.  In Rodney Street, even the road signs have a Liver Bird on top.  Liverpool Cathedral is perched on the crest of the hill and encloses a huge space.  Outside is a sculpture made of 4000 knives recovered in amnesties in England.  Beside the cathedral is a quarry lined with headstones from old graves, including dead orphans.  The Gang of Four are pictured on the path leading down to it.
