Painting Continues

I've started so I'll b****y well finish.  The gloss painting of the doors and frames of the lobby, our bedroom and the bathroom is slow and the paint smells unpleasant.  I have to stop at lunchtime to allow the smell to clear by bedtime.

Lark Rise Farm

The government says one may drive to a place of exercise if the time spent driving is less than the time spent exercising, so we drove three miles to Lark Rise Farm.  As always I photographed the barn door, which becomes more dilapidated every year.  There was little else to photograph but the tractor ruts and the radio telescope dishes.

Eyed Hawk Moths Mating

Grown from caterpillars we harvested last autumn [see 15th October] the moths have emerged and got down to making more moths.

In The Kitchen

For the camera club's online fun evening of images made In The Kitchen, I submitted 1, 2 and 4 with titles Alien Spaceship? Animal Carnival and Lockdown Liquor.  They were favourably received but like all the entries were not scored.

Sadie Portraits

Pictures of Sadie in a relaxed mood.  She took one of me also.

Bug's Birthday

It was Meredith's birthday today, and in view of her love of all things large and feline, especially spotted, she had presents of a stuffed toy leopard, a stuffed toy cheetah, leopard-print shoes (with two buckles) a chorus of Happy Birthday from our neighbours (properly socially-distanced, of course) and a cheetah cake by Carol that even had spots on the inside.  Then she chose to go to her favourite place to play water games with Ted.

The Final Lap

Having cleaned the dead spiders and their webs out of the alcove we have reached the point where we started.  As this was a narrow space, I sent in Meredith to paint it.  Once she's finished the white bits, I'm sending her up the chimney to clean it.  If she's not in school, she might as well learn a trade.

Hot Walk

We didn't get as far as we had intended, and the two blonde creatures were feeling hot.  Sadie had fun jumping in front of a sea of yellow.

One Day After The Other

Our customary walk around the village: on 31st March the pink flowers were not yet out; the Toft Chinese restaurant claims to be open, but seems to be closed; Cambridge Design Partnership's car and bike park is deserted; bikes are in use and teddies wave from upstairs windows; felled trees are now left for insects to inhabit; Brian Mitchell is still planting his gladioli and Justin (blue gloves) serves Colen Lumley outside the shop to ensure social distancing.

Steaming Forward

First coat for the orangey paint behind my computer desk. Then we move the cupboard and tall stack to cover the Old White beside the glass doors.  What fun we had during the coronavirus lockdown!

Whitewash Complete

Red wall overpainted and pictures re-hung.

Attacking the Red Wall

Not an anti-Communist assault but a change of colour for the picture wall.  The newly-painted bookcase is back in place.  I know I wrote that we were going round clockwise, but Ikea has now said that our shelves, due today, will not arrive for another month, so we are going the other way and leaving the porch corner to last.

Nesting Time

A pair of Long Tailed Tits spared no effort to collect feathers for their nest.  We also saw a Willow Chiff (top) a Tree Creeper and a Nuthatch.
