Getting to the Blumental from Wengen on the other side of the valley involved going down to Lauterbrunnen and taking the Murrenbahn (a rope gondola) up to Grutschalp, then a cog railway to Murren and finally the new Allmendhubelbahn, a rope railway, to the top.
