I had not been to Old Warden for two years, and although I knew the Vulcan would pull in a huge crowd and we had seen it twice at Bournemouth, we bought tickets. As we were babysitting Meredith, she came too. She loved the aircraft, and when Mark Jeffries appeared in his Extra 300, she said he was 'making clouds', and when he tumbled out of the smoke she said, "It's crashing!" I thought that was a very perceptive remark - she had watched all the other aircraft doing level flight and noticed the difference. Jeffries also drew a heart in smoke - twice. She was very well-behaved and even the hour queuing to get out of the park did not faze her.
