We set out to visit Battersea Power Station to see what had been done around it. Like the Coal Yards, it has been transformed into a posh residential and shopping area. On the way we met a pair of Egyptian Geese, passed Vauxhall Bus Station - is that a trolley bus design? - and met more of the workings for the big East-West Sewer along the south bank. The white and grey apartment block seemed to resemble cliff dwellings. The Power Station was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, who designed just about everything in England in the late 19th and early 20th Century, including the Bankside Power Station, now the Tate Modern.
