St. Batholomew's, Great Gransden

Having an hour or so yesterday (Easter Monday) before collecting a grandchild, we visited various churches to the west, finding three closed and one on a private estate.  St. Bartholomew's was open, and a very substantial church it is too, with side-aisles, a clerestory and a clock with chimes.  There is a 1989 stained glass window memorial to the 801 men, mostly Canadians, of 405 Squadron, RAF, who lost their lives flying from Gransden Lodge airfield, now the home of the Cambridge Gliding Club.  We had about twenty minutes to photograph the church, and got in each other's way, as we both had fisheye lenses!  Ann is on the left-hand side of my final picture here.
