We took the bus into the city and visited Paddy's Wigwam. The oval decoration actually hides an electricity sub-station. The cathedral buttresses could be the landing legs of a flying saucer, folding out from the main body - very 1960s! Inside was quite dark without the sun shining through the glass. The bust is of St Oscar Romero, who was Archbishop of San Salvador and assassinated by a sniper in 1980 for his outspokenness about the regime.
