The Urania Building

The muse Urania represents Astronomy, and this was a public educational institute and observatory designed by Max Fabiani, a student of Otto Wagner.  It was damaged in the war, and reopened in 1957.  It remains in public education, with seminar rooms and a cinema as well as cafes and the observatory.  The new architecture on the river bank just by the Urania is an office for booking river cruises and boat tours.
