There is a kestrel box on a pylon at Rye Meads, and the female was sitting on her eggs. The male returned with half a rodent and called her out, then flew to a nearby tree. The female flew in, looking as if she was going to take the meal in her talons, but opted for a lovey-dovey-beaky exchange instead. Rare to see kestrels carrying prey in their beaks. She flew off to eat, and the male sat on the eggs until she returned.
