We went to Newnham by bus and the girls played in the park and had lunch. Then we went to the Botanic Gardens and played hide and seek. Meredith borrowed my camera and took 200 photos.

Had I Told The Sea
This poem on a wall in a disused WW2 bunker at Dovercourt seemed a bit classy for graffito, so I checked it out, and it's part of a poem called In the Summer by Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani (1923 - 1998). It reads: Had I told the sea what I felt for you, it would have left its shores, its shells, its fish, and followed me.

Bank Holiday Barbie

Fuji 50mm Lens
I finally got around to buying a s/h Fuji 50mm f/2 WR, having found that the 35mm f/2 WR is indeed weatherproof and actually waterproof. This is the first test, but with an 11mm extension tube. The enlargement is from the top frame and is quite stunning at ISO 1600 on the X-T2.

Star Pussy Cats
Not even little girls are scared by Star Troopers these days. It was very hot in Cambridge, and the actors (part of an advertising team) must have been sweltering in their costumes, so a thoughtful child offered one of them her drink. She even took the top off - it's in her right hand.

Tate Modern
Ann was stewarding at the London Salon's 108th Annual Exhibition in the afternoon, so we went up to town early. It rained all day.

Insects
Top two at Kingston reserve with Fuji 90mm and extension tube. Rest with Ann's Fuji 80mm macro. Wasp spider with grasshopper or cricket; Common or Ruddy Darter and Brown Argus?
