The club visited this one-time nuclear bomb store near Elveden. Three of the four watchtowers have been restored, and one is still derelict. The nuclear parts of the bombs were kept in these individual stores, the explosive parts in larger blocks. A few of the stores have been repainted. The base was used from 1956 to 1963.

Welney Washes
Ann was here at 6 am. The swans went the wrong way. I arrived at a more civilised hour and we spent another three hours photographing the waterfowl. One coot was high on something and chased all the others, sometimes walking over ducks in the way.

Wicken Fen
It was a magical calm sunset from the Boardwalk Hide, with four female Marsh Harriers cruising the reed beds and a lone Barn Owl occasionally being buzzed. We photographed one female Hen Harrier. Canon 5D III with 560mm lens at ISO 2500 with 1/640th sec.

Illuminations
Not being inspired to photograph the artwork, I took pictures of the photographers. There were many with tripods. The lady in purple against a purple Trinity Hall is my beautiful wife.

Evening in Cambridge
Fortified by warm undies and a coat stuffed with the down of a thousand ducks, I ventured into a cold Cambridge with a standard lens on the camera. Pic 1 - Great St. Mary's church; Pic 2 - Market Square; Pic 3 - Rose Crescent; Pic 4 - Trinity Street.

Dishes of the Day
A very muddy walk to photograph the radio telescopes on a dull day. Last time I used wide angle lenses and this time telephotos.

Woodpecker
This Great Spotted Woodpecker was a frequent visitor to our garden before we put up a new fat ball. He tried clinging to it, but seemed to prefer this acrobatic manoeuvre.
