And Now For Something Completely Different

Truck Racing at Snetterton.  A bit like watching an elephant race, but the circuit was packed full.  Miss Norfolk said she liked the pink truck best.  The Legends Cars (top) were powered by 1200cc engines, the pickup trucks by 2 litre motors.  The top karts had 65 bhp and were reaching 130 mph on the Bentley straight.  They ran around like clockwork mice.

Longstowe Fete and Safari Park

Meredith hung about the fire engine waiting for a hero in braces, then watched Sadie being face-painted as a tiger, which impressed her, so she chose to be a lion.  The painter did not have a crib for a lion-face, so she made one up, showed Bug in the mirror and decided to add a pink tongue.  This was later wiped off by pink cake, then much ferocious running about was done.

More from Duxford

Corsair being polished; Dragon Rapide taxiing; Hunter T7 flyby and Stearman.

Before the Show

Duxford on a Friday before the show - plenty of activity, plenty of space to swing a tripod, but the usual into-the-light situation.  I sat with some guys who had an airband radio, so we had advance warning of flybys, etc.

Tall Ships

Down to the river by train on Sunday to see the tall ships.  The Woolwich end of the festival was not easy to photograph, so we hopped on a bus to Greenwich.  Much more going on there.
