Like Wales, Brittany has dual language signs and, like Cornwall, the black and white flags. The car transfers were very popular. Red and white half-timbered construction is a feature of the area.

On The Rocks
We arrived at our self-catering 'gite' at the Manoir de Keringant on Sunday afternoon, and had already discovered that on a Sunday everywhere in France is shut, even Leclerc's supermarket. Today we visited the Cote du Granite Rose at the incredibly cute little port of Ploumanac'h with its serried rock formations.

'Onfleur
Perhaps the queues for the Dartford Crossing and Pont de Normandie were worth it when we arrived in Honfleur. It's sooo cute! 'Jolie France' is about right.

Off On Us 'Olidays
In a rented Vauxhall with the works-bloody-perfectly electric handbrake we went, Peter, Holly, Ann and I, via the Chunnel, now celebrating its glorious 20th anniversary, through a friendly face at a French 'peage' and a 30 minute queue to pay to go over the Pont de Normandie (the Q on the other lane goes all the way back over the bridge well into the flat bit the other side!)

Excitement in Toft
Two scuzzy dudes drove this Audi up the Hardwick drift this morning and torched it, then drove off in another Audi. But why park it back in to the gate? Firemen were on the scene smartly and extinguished the blaze quickly.

Windy Day
A windy day for butterflies, but we started with dragonflies in the sheltered ponds at Burwash, where I managed to get one in-focus snap of a Clouded Yellow. In the afternoon we went to Barton, where a man from CRT showed us round this hay field which is kept for butterflies. I ticked a Small Copper but did not photograph it.
