Wengen Day 1 - the Eiger

Wengen Day 1

The others took the gondola to the top of Mannlichen, but I took the train to Kleine Scheidegg and walked up the track to meet them from the other end.  It was misty and the Eiger was obscured by cloud, with the Hotel Belvedere just visible as a train went down the track to Grindelwald (seen in the next pic.) 

Travelling Out

We missed our connection to Lauterbrunnen at Interlaken Ost by a minute, but arrived in Wengen at just after four o'clock.  The station is the view from our hotel room.

Duxbug

Meredith and I went to Duxford today, and there was lots of flying around.  She saw Tiger Moths, Dragon Rapides and Spitfires.  Some of them were very noisy.  Meredith can run faster than a Typhoon, and find ladybirds no one else can see.

Birthday Party

It was Martha's birthday at the Raptor Foundation at St Ives this afternoon.  Sadie and Idha stuck together and laughed while we took Meredith around the site and watched the flying display.

Sun and Bugs

At last a sunny day!  Bugs and orchids at Haslingfield and Kingston and a very worn Peacock butterfly.

Cath and Matt's Wedding

Auntie Lu tied the knot with Matt this afternoon.  Sadie and Meredith were Flower Girls.  Much fun was had.
