A loose club outing (social distancing observed, of course) to the Gogs looking for fungi. The hay bales turned into Swiss Rolls in my dreams.

Caldecote Church
We walked across the fields to Caldecote and ventured into the church, which was showing the effects of the pandemic - no one had been inside to clean for a while, though the flowers were fresh.

The Station Area
Our second day in Cambridge dog-sitting Bracken left us some time on another hot day to explore the old Cattle Yard and the top of Station Road, where I tried the set background approach to photography, finished on bikes.

Cambridge Almost Normal Again
There were many tourists on their way from the station to the centre today. The centre was busy in the good weather. The rough sleeper's colours made the image almost beautiful, but the contrast in the wider view was clear. The Catholic Church was still there, 214 feet tall, and the Flying Pig, former haunt of Pink Floyd in their youth, seemed empty, although its facade will be preserved in the new development.

Back to Snetterton
Smell the Castrol R! The grandstands were all closed for this Class-D race meeting, but the rooks maintained social distancing. Smart birds! The Equipe Libre were great, with four A-H 3000s drifting smoothly around Coram Curve. Worth many tens of thousands of pounds, they were nevertheless driven to the max, even going for non-existent gaps at Murray's. Ann and I met Peter there.

Back to the Fitzwilliam
Like everywhere else, you have to pre-book your visit, and the museum was not crowded. I liked the use of Millais's The Bridesmaid to advocate the use of masks. The busts are of from top Alexander Pope, John Milton in old age, the museum guv'nor 1938-46, and two images of assorted heads.
