Back to Burwell Fen

An RPS Nature Day led by Ann, with not a drop of rain.  Jane and three other RPS members attended and had superb views of two Short-Eared Owls.

Welney Washes

The first of two RPS Nature Days led by Ann.  The water level was high, so there were no close waders, but godwits and lapwings were out there.

Daytime in the Museum

We took the bus into Cambridge and had lunch at the Whale Cafe.  There we found a lost bear, who got cuddles from Sadie and Meredith.  Ann took Sadie to the Geology Museum, while Meredith and I went round the Natural History Museum.  Our bus home broke down, and Matt had to come and collect us from Newnham.

The first visit to Wicken this year, and the first Bittern of 2019.

Mixing Brands

Using a Canon Telephoto lens on a Fuji camera via an adapter.  Manual focus only, with a one-in-three success rate.  Paxton was quiet, so there wasn't much opportunity for subjects close to the camera.

Morning Mist

Got out early (well, 7.25) and looked for where the mist had the best effect.

Lark Rise

Another walk with a standard lens.  No larks rising, but I saw a Roe Deer and a Hare, as well as partridges.
