Grandparents

Visiting Auntie Pat at the weekend Margaret and I saw this photo of our paternal grandparents with Kevin and Paddy.  As Grandpa Patrick was in uniform, it's probable that it was taken in Ireland before 1922.

  

Bug, MIdge and Larvae

All engaged in putting some things somewhere else. The sawfly larvae are on the plants in the garden.  

The Season Is Almost Over

A sunny afternoon yesterday at Old Warden, where time seems to stand still.  From the top:  the Comper Swift, with its reduction-geared Pobjoy Niagara engine, the sole-surviving Parnell Elf, the Avro Tutor and, after a forced landing with engine trouble a couple of years ago, the little Bristol MC2 is back in the air.

Aero Art Attempts

I took the little Fuji to Duxford with the new 18mm lens (=27mm) and tripod and looked for almost-abstract images in the crowded hangars.

The Event

David (top) and Francoise (in the fur coat) celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in a 1930s-themed party on a train at Loughborough.  All the guests, half of whom were French, wore costume.
