The sun finally emerged from the cloud just before it sank beneath the horizon and we got some better pix than on the way out.

City of the Dogs
A cold day in Buxton, the opera house open, more dogs that you can shake a stick at - collies, spaniels
and Westies mostly - and low sun. Snap of the day was a merlin flying across the road near Hollinsclough. Just when you need a camera! Saturday, 28 December 2013
Kedleston Hall
A Palladian pile built for Viscount Curzon, who was Viceroy of India and now rests in this side chapel.

It Wasn't Me!
Nuffink to do with me, Grandad. I was abducted by aliens and when I asked them to change my nappy they dumped me back in this box. I mean, look at my boat - I'm innocent, I bin framed.

Minions
Sadie and Meredith last week. Sadie was chain-watching 'Despicable Me 2', and drew a Minion in the corner of her chalkboard.

National Media Museum
Last weekend the club visited the Museum in Bradford, where I came over all arty with my camera. Most unusual for me!

Wetterton!
The rain arrived as forecast at Snetterton on Saturday, making for much more interesting images than in the dry races earlier. The late afternoon sun came out for five minutes (Pic 2) and I experimented with slow shutter speeds and spray. The No. 12 car was driven by Pietro Fittipaldi, 17-year old grandson of Emerson Fittipaldi, who was twice F1 world champion.

New Venue for CCC?
The Camera Club tried out Cambridge Rugby Club for size on Monday. Soft seats and plenty of room to move about in the interval were popular features. Fuji on a tripod with slow shutter speed.

Sparrowhawk
I'd just got into the Reedbed Hide at Fowlmere when this sparrowhawk had a go at something over the reeds. It was unsuccessful and rose up into the wind. The images were over-exposed.

Birding Firsts
Yesterday Ann and I went to Wicken hoping to see the Hen Harriers at dusk. ISO cranked up to the stops, lens fully open, focussing failing, four seconds for the grey birds to glide out of the gloom and into the reeds. Then today we were at Fowlmere watching a Water Rail preening at the edge of the reeds, when it flew! I was so surprised I did nothing for two seconds, then I threw the camera at the bird. This was the only frame with the Rail in it, below the focussing points. But I've never seen a Water Rail in flight before.
