Racing at Bassingbourn Barracks today was certainly uncomfortable and in places dangerous. At least the competitors seemed to be having fun.

The De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill
Designed by Mendelsohn and Chermayeff and completed in 1935, the Pavilion was recently restored to its former glory. Earl de la Warr was the first socialist MP for the Labour Party and was Bexhill's mayor when the Pavilion was built.

Bexhill Seafront
The Santorini-like cupolas were built in 1911 to mark the coronation of King George V. The De La Warr Pavilion can be seen in the top and bottom pictures.

Trevor Roche
Trevor Roche, of the rock-steady moustache, was killed flying a dH 53 Hummingbird today at Old Warden. Here he is flying the Sopwith Triplane in May 2010 and the Bleriot in September last year. R.I.P.
