New Chair

Sadie's Daddy bought her a proper chair of her own today. She is wearing her Chicago Bears shirt.

Bristol 188

Some details from the RAF Museum's Bristol 188. It was made of stainless steel and needs a lot of polishing.

Wet Streets

100, Huskisson Street, where I used to live and stayed at when in Liverpool up to 1982.

Tom's Cabin, Seacombe

Ann and I had lunch today in this establishment on the Wirral. The staff were friendly and courteous and the cutlery was clean. The food was all freshly cooked and well served, Ann was given a glass of water (free) and they kindly put some ice in it. £8.60 for two main courses and two teas. Around the back, the streets looked seriously deprived. We left feeling well-fed, well-treated and relaxed. Thank you, ladies.

Between the Cathedrals

We went up the tower of the grim Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool to re-take a photo I took over 30 years ago. Then we walked up Hope Street, past a Superlambanana and a Magical Mystery Tour bus to Paddy's Wigwam and its colourful interior.

Sadie is Fifteen Months Old

She is a very happy little girl who knows what she wants and sweeps all before her.

Future Career?

Her IQ having passed that of the average drummer, perhaps she will be a tyrannical conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic, though she seems to have too much charm for that.

Edith's Ashes

Ann, El, Sadie and I were present today when Edith's ashes were laid in the ground beneath a new headstone. If Sadie lives to the same age as Edith (98) she will live in the 22nd Century.

New Blue Dress

Today was the first time Sadie had worn this dress. It was very pretty, but wasn't very suitable for crawling.

High Tide

Driven off the mudflats by the incoming tide, the knot and dunlin land on spits in the gravel pits, then, as the tide recedes, they all depart once more for the mud, followed by the oystercatchers.

New Boots

Midge was wearing her new shoes (or her first pair, since you can't have 'new' shoes if you've never had any before!) and looks so grown-up.

Sally B's Party

Yesterday's 'airshow' at Duxford was a pleasing affair - not too much P.A. and a hush from the big crowd when the aircraft flew by. It was hot and hazy, with a lot of heat from the tarmac areas you don't get at Old Warden.
