The plastic Lotus Europa is hustled by Japanese iron in the form of the Datsun 240Z. The red car is not a Triumph TR2 or 3a, but Turner Mk 2.

Sadie is Back

After a week where I've done no photography and Sadie has been on holiday, normal service has been resumed.

More F3 racers

The red and blue cars are chevrons (and the head of a third driver can be seen though the windscreen of the red car). The F3 cars were taken at 1/80th and 1/160th sec. respectively for the panning. The yellow one looks like a tiny version of the Auto Union, those 16-cylinder monsters raced by Germany in the late Thirties.

Identifying Cuckoos

Apart from the head, cuckoos look remarkably like a bird of prey, usually the sparrowhawk, but in this case a kestrel.

Merlin Telescope

We were up the drift looking for the barn owl. It flew over a hedge two fields away, while the evening light lit the radio telescope ten fields away.

Buzzed!

This female marsh harrier never had the time to get a bead on any little lapwings once the parent started harrying her.

Midge was not well for a couple of days, and needed a bath after every nappy change. This did not dismay her.

The crow was photographed late in the evening of 31st May, after the rain. The heron was early the next morning, the swan and the hobby around midday.
