More F3 racers





The red and blue cars are chevrons (and the head of a third driver can be seen though the windscreen of the red car). The F3 cars were taken at 1/80th and 1/160th sec. respectively for the panning. The yellow one looks like a tiny version of the Auto Union, those 16-cylinder monsters raced by Germany in the late Thirties.

Identifying Cuckoos



Apart from the head, cuckoos look remarkably like a bird of prey, usually the sparrowhawk, but in this case a kestrel.

We were up the drift looking for the barn owl. It flew over a hedge two fields away, while the evening light lit the radio telescope ten fields away.
