Hardwick Wood

A much warmer sunnier day than recently.  Hardwick Wood was open once more, now that all the mud had dried up.  We found a Long Tailed Tit making a nest.

Painting onwards . . .

Ann has painted the shelves twice and we have painted the glass panels over.  The only thing we forgot was the front edge of the door.  Dohh!

Springwatch

Our very own Kate Humble telling us all about the blue tits nesting in the nest box on the plum tree outside her room.  She consulted the internet and constructed her own blue tit nest with painted clay eggs, having collected the feathers, grass and horsehair as they do.

Passing the Time under Lockdown

Having bought in lots of paint we are starting at the door and going round clockwise (yes, like John Cleese!!) painting and clearing space for the new shelving which should arrive next week.

Exercise Pictures

Walking around the village, with Ann looking for bees to photograph.  Ronnie and Christine Ward's identical headstones look very smart.  The natural and cut flowers in the churchyard are very bright and cheerful.

Ann's Insects

This is the larger of her two Phasmids, and now has wings.  They were very hard to photograph because they seemed to turn the wrong way every time we moved the bramble perch.  And they resemble leaves!

Ancestor Respect

Sadie went to the churchyard in Toft to clean up the gravestone of her great grandparents John and Edith Grady and to install one of her hedgehogs as a guardian.
