Back to Old Warden Airfield for the first time in two years. It was full! In spite of that the place kept its gentle atmosphere. I met Richard Perry and spent most of the time in the SVAS tent eating someone's excellent lemon drizzle cake with my lunch.

Solar Power
Solar panels and storage batteries installed and puffing out watts already. The men said that their warehouse was almost empty of new panels.

Mallory Park, Day Two
The wind had come round to southerly and it was a warmer day on the Sunday. The fifth race of the morning was red-flagged, and we heard that the air ambulance was arriving. It stayed for about half an hour before leaving, and we walked about the paddock waiting for racing to restart. We heard that a rider had died after a seemingly innocuous accident in the centre of the track at a fairly slow point, and soon afterwards the organisers closed the meeting and asked us all to leave. Very sad.

Mallory Park, Day One
To Mallory Park for a British Historic Racing weekend of old bikes and scooters. Took Peter and met Jim Bennett and Mark Farrington there. Cold, with a northerly wind and occasional rain, it was friendly circuit. If a little light on safety barriers, it gave good access for the photographer. Ann joined us from Birmingham at the end of the day and we went to the nearby Windmill pub for very large diameter pizzas.
