Thirty Years

Today was our 30th Wedding Anniversary and we took the coach up to Mile End and explored Brick Lane.  More pictures to follow.

In The Paddock

A lively post-race discussion did not end in fisticuffs; a rider shares his concerns with his mechanic and a tyre expert goes to work.

Cadwell Park (dry)

The classic four-strokes were lovely to listen to, and the two-strokes lovely to smell (lots of blue smoke!).  All the riders looked more comfortable in the dry conditions.  I was looking for more pictorial composition today.

Cadwell Park (wet)

Classic bikes at the Lincolnshire circuit; the last time Peter and I were here we were riding bikes.
It's a wonderful circuit for hills and bends and for viewing, but difficult to get down to the level of the riders.  Of the bikes pictured, 20 is a small Honda, 142 is a BSA, 113 is a Moto Guzzi Falconi, p3 is an even smaller Honda (125?) and 6 is a Seeley.

Out with the Old

Away with the big old black diesel Citroen and in with the small new white lead-free Skoda Citigo.  They were being sold off to make way for the new all-electric Citigo.  Somehow the salesman slipped in a 'Colour Edition' with fancy wheels.  I collected the girls from school and told them I couldn't remember where I'd parked the black car and pretended to steal this one.  I fooled them for about three seconds.

Dakotas at Duxford

I was stewarding on the freshly-painted Trident today for the D-Day 75th anniversary, when 21 Douglas DC-3s took off for Normandy with parachutists aboard.  The USAF provided a flypast of seven C-130s and six Ospreys.

Strumpshaw Fen

The usual sparse showing of avifauna, made up for by Damselflies, a Swallowtail on the flowers outside the visitor centre and a female Scarce Chaser.
