Meredith is Three Today

The little blonde bombshell is finally out of the Terrible Twos.  Sadie helped her to open her prezzies - the Lego Duplo Zoo was the favourite, and she liked the vet uniform.  There was a party at the People's Hall; at first she was a little shy and held Granny Sue's hand.   Mum had made a cake with Dalmatian candles and after the food, Sadie started a balloon fight.  Bug and Cara loved the soft toys.

Along the Thames 2 - Container City

More of a village than a city, but it has a container cafe ('Bow Creek' is the mouth of the River Lea) and some newer buildings use the container style without being containers.  Some of the containers are private residences, others workshops.

Along the Thames 1 - Greenwich

To Greenwich with the club to do the Thames walk again.  This set shows landscape near the old power station - Enderby Street has the original terrace on this side only - the other is a newer imitation of the style.  The white building is clean now - but in future ... ?

Spring Day

We went to Barton for tea with Val, picked up some tadpoles for our pond and visited the playground.

Lackford Lakes

Our first visit of the year to the Suffolk reserve, and there were chiffchaffs chiffchaffing everywhere, with wrens ten a penny.  Nuthatches and jackdaws were bold, and we even saw a stoat.

A Day at the Museum

Ann and I took the girls to the Sedgewick Museum to see dinosaurs.  We parked and rode on a big blue bus.  And got away with only two pounds on presents from the gift shop - a biro for Sadie and two small elephants for Meredith.  Cost for the outing - three pounds; the extra quid for parking, but all of us were free on the bus.

A Day at the Races

We went with Lynne, Sarah and Gareth to Huntingdon for the Easter Monday race meeting.  It was overcast and chilly, and the sun broke through as soon as we left!

Audley End

In spite of what it said in the website, photography was not allowed inside the House.  However, there were lots of garden buildings to explore, and Ann was cornered by triffids in a greenhouse.
